Job Description

Job Title:         Fundraising and Communications Coordinator

Reports to:      Fundraising and Communications Manager

Hours:             37.5 hours per week, 9:00am – 5:30pm (Theodora Children’s Charity operates a flexible working hours policy)

Salary:            £24,000 - £27,000 per annum

Holiday:           28 days

 

About Theodora Children’s Charity

We are a fast-growing and inspirational children’s charity. We improve the health of children in hospitals by sending professional performers called Giggle Doctors to bring magical moments of fun. We want to double our impact over the next three years by reaching 43,500 children, and we want you to play a key part in this growth.

 

Purpose and Scope of Job

  • Responsible for securing income from trusts
  • Managing your own portfolio of community supporters
  • Creating engaging communication materials

Fundraising

·       Apply and report to existing trusts

·       Research and approach new trusts

·       Develop high quality fundraising proposals for new and existing donors

·       Build and maintain relationships with club, community and education donors

·       Identify new funding opportunities

·       Manage a tracking system of all applications, proposals and their status

  • Record donor information on the charity database

 

Communications

·       Write regular content for social media pages and website

·       Write content for newsletters

  • Create email signatures and social media banners
  • Identify and write case studies that highlight our cause

 

Administrative

  • Represent the charity at external functions
  • Support team with fundraising admin

Person Specification: Fundraising and Communications Coordinator

Qualifications

·       Educated to A Level or equivalent, or appropriate experience in a directly related post

Skills and Abilities

Essential

·       Excellent written communication skills

·       Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

·       Good people skills and an ability to build rapport with donors

·       Able to prioritise and organise own workload

·       Able to manage multiple projects and work to a deadline

·       A drive to achieve and further our cause

Desirable

·       Experience of using design software

Experience

·       Either voluntary or paid experience of working in an office with a fundraising team 

Knowledge

·       Some knowledge of fundraising including trusts and foundations

·       Understanding of the UK voluntary sector

·       Knowledge of social media platforms

Personal Attributes and Other Requirements

·       A passion for our work

·       Willingness to travel around England to visit our donors or the hospitals we work in

·       Self-motivation

·       Able to work as part of a small team

·      A responsible, mature and flexible approach

·       Able and willing to attend events outside of normal hours if required
